Point of Impact by Stephen Hunter

4 of 5

Update:
So I finished this book, and I have to say that it really impressed me. After having seen the movie "Shooter" I was expecting something decent, but got quite a bit more. If I have any complaint, it's that at times it goes a little too deep into gun technology. However, there's probably a large part of his audience that loves that aspect. All in all, a very good read. I give it a 4/5!

I've just started reading Point of Impact. I became interested when I found out that the recent Mark Whalberg movie Shooter was based on a book. I've read a lot of Tom Clancy in the past, so I figured I'd give Stephen Hunter a shot. So far I'd say it's pretty good!

Goblin Quest & Goblin Hero by Jim C. Hines

3 of 5

My wife recently bought Goblin Quest and Goblin Hero. The title and cover caught my eye, so I decided to read Goblin Quest, the first of the two. I wasn't overly impressed at first, despite what I thought to be a clever story setup. However by the 2nd 3rd of the book I was having fun reading it. I enjoyed it enough that by the end I dove right into book 2: Goblin Hero. Both of these books are a fun read.
Hines tells the story of Jig, a runt of a goblin. In Hines' world, the goblins' biggest problem is the constant stream of Adventurers looking for treasure etc.. So when Jig gets mixed up with a band of adventurers as a sort of guard, he's less than happy.
Anyway, I give both books 3/5 stars.
Let me know what you think!
